This event raises funds to promote awareness for all individuals with Down Syndrome. In addition, funds raised for our Buddy Walk through Up with Downs will be used to help pay for “Precious Gifts” kits for new parents, advocacy training, books, guest speakers and materials for families, for our annual social gatherings, and also we give a portion to our National Down Syndrome Society & local organizations that also provide their services to any special needs individuals. We are striving to continue to add additional resources for our families this year.

Our annual Buddy Walk is a day filled with fun while building awareness and acceptance, beginning with our ceremonial 1mile walk around the campus, including little ones in strollers & wagons and teams of supporters whose lives have been touched by a loved one with Down Syndrome. Then, we will spend the day gathering with families, friends, and supporters of our loved ones with Down Syndrome. This will include lunch, music, bounce houses, and face painting.

Up with Downs would like to ask your company or organization to help. Employees could participate and raise a donation from your business or organization with a “Denim for Down Syndrome” day or collect “Dimes for Down Syndrome.” You may also make a tax free donation by mailing a check made out to Up with Downs and writing “Buddy Walk Donation” in the notes section, in lieu of walking with us that day. If your business is able to donate goods or products that could be used during our event as door prizes or to assist with services provided, we welcome your involvement in making this year an even BIGGER success!
